Cookery classes at Wursthaus Kitchen

Learn cooking skills from an expert ...

WURSTHAUS KITCHEN COOKING SCHOOL

Monthly cooking classes are held in our in-store kitchen. Great fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy a glass of wine (or two! or three!) as one of our professional chefs shares their cooking skills with class participants in a fun and informative environment.

The modest registration cost covers all ingredients (and the wine!), and you can enjoy the fruits of your labours as you sit down together to eat the dishes produced and discuss cooking techniques.

Your newly acquired skills are sure to impress your family and friends.

A reminder for all those who wish to participate in our cooking classes – it is hands-on, so please come dressed to work in the kitchen. Comfortable non-slip shoes are important; an apron and sharp cutting knife would be handy.

AUTUMN 2013 ...

  • Spanish Tapas

    Mon 25th or Tues 26th March, 7:00pm. Cost: $100

Our Spanish Tapas class is back by popular demand, with new recipes and handy hints for preparing these tasty Spanish appetizers. Join our chef in preparing a tapas selection including classic tortillas, mussels, stuffed lamb cutlets, a traditional Spanish Bacalao (stuffed salted cod) with piquillo peppers, ceviche, and for dessert the wickedly indulgent Spanish “churros”

  • Mexican Cuisine

    Mon 29th or Tues 30th April, 7:00pm. Cost: $100

Authentic Mexican food is vibrant, delicious, fun and easy to cook. It is also colourful, spicy, and has a real depth of flavour with its combination of savoury and earthy flavours, and use of fresh herbs. Join Chef Simon in making a classic taco and enchilada, preparing mole sauce for making Mexico’s most famous dish, “Mole Poblano” (Chicken in Red Mole Sauce), which includes Mexican chocolate.

  • Argentinian Cuisine

    Mon 27th or Tues 28th May, 7:00pm. Cost: $100

Argentinean food draws upon a strong Spanish and Italian heritage, as well as other European and South American cultures. By and large, Argentina’s food is generally less spicy than that of many of its neighbours. Beef is the national dish, of course, and many dishes do contain meat, but this is prepared in a wide variety of ways. Join Chef Simon in making (among other things) Argentina’s national dish, Asado ... beef ribs with our own preprared Chimichurri, cooked on a wood fired (with local timbers) BBQ in the traditional manner.
