For meat lovers ...

PREMIUM QUALITY FRESH MEAT & POULTRY

Choose from our range of prime cut fresh meats, all of which (with the exception of veal) are locally produced. The range includes tender cuts of beef (including organic beef and wagyu), lamb, pork, veal and venison. We also stock whole rabbits.

Our fresh (not frozen) poultry range includes spatchcocks, dressed quail, duck and, of course, excellent Nichols chicken and turkey.

BEEF ...

Much of our beef comes from King Island – producers of the best natural quality grass-fed beef in the world. The meat’s unique flavour is said to be due to the island’s pasture grasses, which grow nowhere else in Australia.

We also obtain beef from Longford Meat, and stock MSA beef.

Wursthaus Wholesale are the Southern Tasmanian Distributors for Robbins Island Grass Fed full blood Wagyu. A great range of wagyu cuts available including Scotch fillets, Striploins and Oyster Blades for grilling, along with Chucks, Blades, Chuck tenders, Rounds, Topsides and offal for slow cooking.

PORK ...

Our prime cuts of locally-produced pork include:

  1. Pork Rack
  2. Pork Fillet
  3. Pork Chops
  4. Pork Roast (loin)
  5. Pork Scotch

Succulent free-range fresh Berkshire Pork is also often available in store. Previously very difficult to source in Tasmania, we have been working with Nicholls Rivulet Organic Farm in the Huon Valley to ensure a local supply for our customers.

Produced from pigs which live happy, free-range lives, this meat has a more intense flavour than that of regular pork. This is due to the slower growth rate and maturing of free-range pigs, and also to the use of the Berkshire breed – one of the old original pig breeds.

Despite the higher cost of raising free-range animals, we are pleased to be able to sell this premium quality pork at regular fresh pork prices, allowing you to try it for yourself ... and taste the difference.

VEAL ...

Our prime cuts of venison and wallaby are supplied by Doo Town Game at Eaglehawk Neck. They include:

King Island cattle are strict vegetarians as they are not fed any animal by-products. They graze all year-round on natural pastures that are free of genetic modifications and chemical residues.
